Micro weddings are here to stay and for good reason… Weddings are a lot! If you’re looking for a micro wedding venue in Trinidad here is a roundup of some of the hidden gems I’ve come across as a wedding photographer on the island. Fair warning… this list may either make your wedding planning easier because all of your options are in front of you, or make it more difficult since you’ll have more amazing venues to choose from. Sorry in advance. Here is the rundown on my favorite small wedding venues in Trinidad
(If you’re looking for Tobago specific micro wedding venues you can check those out here)
Hands down the biggest hidden gem wedding venue in Trinidad! When a venue already looks good, you have to do very little to decorate it, and that’s what micro weddings are all about. I cannot say enough nice things about this spot… I even got married here! There’s lawn space for your ceremony, a bridal suite to get ready in, and a gorgeous staircase to make your grand entrance. There’s also a “crystal ballroom” with AC and beautiful glass windows all around, a photographer’s dream! Add a bar, a pool, and a secured parking area, and you’ve got something truly unique. Reality of a Dream always has my vote.
This venue has a very special place in my heart. It’s newer to the wedding market, but every single penny spent here is worth it. They offer an all-inclusive experience for up to 80 guests — a full-day wedding surrounded by some of Trinidad’s rarest birds. There are several natural pools for your guests to explore, and more photo locations than any other venue I know. The place is jaw-dropping.
This needs to be the FIRST place you check out if you are a plant lover. The Teahouse at San Antonio Farms is so whimsical. There are ultra rare monsteras and plants you’ve only seen online. I’m sure seeing a horse or two will make your day.
Another gorgeous spot right in the heart of Port of Spain. If a backyard garden wedding is your vibe, this is the perfect location. The owner, Trudy, does a beautiful job maintaining the venue, and keeping with our previous theme… if the venue already looks good, you have to do very little to decorate it. This venue comes with a shuttle for parking, a backup generator, tables and chairs, and a bridal suite. Keep it simple with a few bouquets per table and you’re good to go!
Give Ortinola Estate their flowers! I love an old-timey vintage feel in a venue, and with a decorator who has a good eye and a modern touch, this place could be pure magic. I wish more people knew about it.
Not talked about enough. Sometimes you want a small wedding without the hassle, and hotel weddings are perfect for that. If you have out-of-town guests, Courtyard by Marriott gives you real peace of mind.
What a venue! This is definitely a hidden gem in Arima. If you live in the East, it’s always a great idea to keep your wedding close to home so your guests aren’t traveling too late at night. Jenny’s Ranch has a beautifully manicured lawn that honestly doesn’t need much decorating either. You won’t be disappointed.
This one is new — all white, gorgeous rooftop, and great lighting. Wedding photographer approved!
Another classic. The Hilton has some of the most beautiful locations for photos!
A fun, intimate venue right in POS. It’s a garden space, so expect to feel super relaxed. It’s convenient and easy to find, so you don’t have to worry about out-of-town guests getting lost.
Calabash Garden is downright cool. It’s lowkey and has a certain vibe that you can’t fully describe until you’re there. A must-see spot.
A restaurant wedding is the best thing you can do for yourself when planning — I said what I said! Venue and food are taken care of in one shot. Look out for The Toucan.
A very raw space that will need some decor, but don’t let that intimidate you!
Another beautiful garden wedding venue. A must-see!
Your guests are going to go crazy over this spot. Venues in the East don’t get enough love, but this one should!
I tried long and hard to get a picture of this place, but you’ll have to see it to believe it. A cliffside venue right in Trinidad — if you live in the East, this is an amazing spot to consider!
This one is for my East Trinidad people! Although you likely won’t be swimming, I love a venue with a pool — and this one has my stamp of approval.
A classic spot. The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of Port of Spain near the Savannah. It has indoor/outdoor space, which is amazing if you want to dine indoors and party outside.
Veroniques definitely gives off a “secret garden” vibe that is perfect for an elegant wedding! A must for your list of venues to visit.
You’re probably familiar with The Anchorage, but have you considered its smaller, just as cute cousin next door, Rock Back! Same exact vibe, half the size, probably half the price.
A micro wedding in Trinidad dodesnt have to be a compromise. You can do it small and still make gorgeous memories. The right photographer can turn a backyard wedding into tear jerking memories for generations to enjoy.
