Picking a wedding venue close to home is one of the best gifts you can give yourself on your wedding day. Driving from Penal to Port of Spain the morning of your wedding is a stress you and your guests don’t need. While there aren’t as many options for wedding venues in South Trinidad as there are in the north, there are still several really amazing options!
Rated highly for good reasons. When you think of a tropical Trini wedding, this is one of the first places that comes to mind — and it’s in the south! Such a win if you can secure a date here.
This is definitely my type of venue if you have a sizeable guest list. It’s open air but has a covered reception area, which is something you don’t find often in wedding venues in south Trinidad! There is a large pasture with horses attached to the property, bound to add a touch of life to your party if you can catch them grazing. You can go all out with décor, or keep it simple. There is also a pool which does something to boost the mood of your guests, even though there will be no swimming…unless you’re up for it!
Your typical banquet hall that we all know and love, but with a stunning outdoor space that can be used as well. I’ve seen some seriously gorgeous weddings here! No need to travel to POS or even Central. If you live near Victoria, be sure to check them out.
Now THIS is the first place you need to look if you want something “different” that will impress your guests. We’ve all been to a hundred weddings — but how many of those were rooftop? For me, none! Make it fun for us both and book your wedding here. Thanks in advance.
Just pretty! There is a full indoor space as well as an open air concept. They’ll give you a quote for your event within 24 hours, which is quick. Check them out for sure.
This is a beautiful open air spot in Couva, so if you’re from the south you don’t have to go too far!
Think Esperanza Alta, but closer to home if home is South for you. It’s a lovely outdoor space that you can do as much with as your imagination will allow. This venue is what you make it, and if you hire a good decorator it will be fab.
Stunning! This is definitely more of an ‘experience’ wedding. It’s outdoors on a well-kept property. You won’t be able to go late into the evening, but for a lot of people that’s more than they want anyway. Perfect if you want to gather with family, say your vows, enjoy a meal, and lime. If you don’t want to make the trek all the way to Asa Wright — it’s a long way from the south — this is the perfect alternative for a wedding venue in South Trinidad.
Don’t underestimate how a relaxing environment will add to the vibe of your wedding. San Salvador is unique in that the venue is a wooden cabin! There is lots of outdoor space for your guests to explore during cocktail hour, and they can come inside and enjoy the party in AC when they’re done.
This event space is massive and has serious potential for anyone looking for elaborate décor!
Book this if you’re having something big. South Ranch normally books up for fetes, so if you know you want a wedding that is a great time, make sure to check them out early!
That about wraps it up! I’m Day Gordon, a local wedding photographer here in Trinidad. I’ve been to a lot of venues and have seen many beautiful weddings made in both large and small spaces.
